Tuesday Talk – A Towel Can Be The Best Tool

Hey, Dragons!

Here is another weekly video episode of our Tuesday Talks.

1. CONGRATULATIONS TO SARAH AND STEVE STARTING P90X TOGETHER
Steve and Sarah started a round of P90x together yesterday.  The are both committed to “bringing it” over the next 90 days.  So, lookout!!  They are going to get awesome results.

2. NEXT WEEK’S CHALLENGE: CHAIR DIPS
Do as many as you can in 60 seconds and report what you got.  Bonus points goes out to those that can do some of them with your leg raised.  Bring it!

3. HOW CAN A TOWEL BE THE BEST WORKOUT TOOL?
First off, let me give a shout out to Steve who has been “bringing it” on Team Dragon Fit for a long time.  He has lost a ton of weight and has been “paying it forward” by helping others.  The problem with helping people in a group workout is that there is never enough equipment to go around.  That’s okay. Sagi (the creator of Body Beast) showed us a great way to get an awesome calorie burn by just using a simple towel.  Basically, you need to pair up with someone and one person provides resistance, while the other tries to perform the exercise.  The great part is that both people get a great workout.  The one providing resistance sturggles to hold the towel steady and the one performing the exercise gets a burn.  A simple workout of “push” vs. “pull”.  If the person helping you is not as strong as you, then be sure to increase your number of reps so that you still get a great burn.

4. RESULTS OF LAST WEEK’S CHALLENGE: BURPEE JUMP SQUATS FROM LES MILLS COMBAT
I have to admit, these were tough.  These are definitely a lot tougher than they looked in the video clip.  With that said, Debbie on our team rocked this challenge.  She nailed out 16 in one minute and then continued to do the enitre workout and did another 19 later.  Awesome!  Coach Fred only got 14, so the “DRAGON AWARD” goes to you, Debbie, for this week’s challenge!  Nice!
