Decide. Commit. Succeed.

I am a Restaurant Manager for my parent’s restaurant.  Over the last year, I have been doing Beachbody programs and my restaurant customers have been amazed at seeing my progress.  I have literally melted away 100 lbs. right in front of their eyes!  I often get asked, “How did you lose all that weight?”  I always tell them that it is much easier than they think.  If you want to succeed in any fitness program, then here is what you need to do:

1. Decide, Commit, Succeed
This is Beachbody’s slogan.  Decide which program you want to complete and then commit 100% to it and success will follow.  Sounds simple, right?  Well, it may seem complicated at first, but in reality it really is that simple.  Let’s talk a little more about some of these points.

Beachbody has numerous programs to choose from that can help you achieve your goals.  For myself, I have done P90x, Insanity, and am now on my first round of P90x2.  I can tell your firsthand that all of these are amazing world class programs and just Google the words “P90x Transformation” on the internet and you will see ordinary people like myself who have had dramatic results.  If you want to learn  more about P90x and Insanity, be sure to check out my reviews.  If you have been out of the game for a while, then maybe start with a round of Power 90 and then work up to an extreme program like P90x.  There are numerous options, just click my “shopping” tab to see the different programs that Beachbody offers.  If you have questions, I’d be happy to help.

Whichever program you choose, commit 100% to it.  Follow the workout schedule and commit to eating healthy for the entire program.  For almost 20 years I was 300 lbs.  I found lots of excuses not to workout and not to eat healthy.  The key to my results with P90x this time, is that I left all excuses at the door and committed 100% to following through on the program.  Was it tough?  Absolutely!  Just like Tony Horton says in the P90x videos, “Just show up and keep pushing play!”.   I did just that.  If I felt sick, I pushed play.  If I got only 3 hours of sleep because my 3 little kids were up all night, I pushed play.  If I knew I had a full day’s schedule the next day, I set my clock to wake me up at 5am instead of 6am.  Simply, if I had no time, I made the time.  I scheduled it in my day like I would a major meeting.  I also committed to eating “clean” and dialing in my nutrition.  If it was someone’s birthday, I politely said no to the cake.  I measured, weighed and counted ALL my calories.  If it went in my mouth, then I entered it on the program on my iPhone.

In just 1 year, I have gone from 275 lbs. to 177lbs. (almost a whopping 100lbs.!!)   I used to be 35.6% bodyfat and currently am down to below 10%.   I am in the best shape of my life and I have a new sense of pride and accomplishment. People tell me all the time they can definitely see a new spring in my step.  I am 41 years old and my friends tell me I look like I did when I was in high school (the fact is that I now weigh less than I did as a senior in high school!  LOL!)  The best measure of  success for me is that I now have the energy to keep up with my 3 little kids and know that I will be here for them a long time.  The best part is that I have succeeded in changing from “diet” to “diet”, to now eating “healthy” and living a fit lifestyle.  It is still a year later and I am still measuring, weighing, and counting all my calories and entering them in my iPhone.  For me, fitness is a journey and not a destination. I plan to  be helping others and pushing play for the rest of my life.

So, when people ask me, “How did I lose all this weight?”  I smile and say, “It’s easy.  Decide. Commit. Succeed.”
