Vegas, Baby! Coach Summit Update

Vegas, Baby! Coach Summit Update

Jun 27, 2013

Vegas, Baby! That’s right! It’s that time of the year! Last week was Beachbody’s biggest annual event: The Coach Summit! It took place from June 20 to 23 in Las Vegas. I went last year and it was a total blast and this year was even better.  Coach Summit is an opportunity for thousands of Beachbody coaches to get together, learn about Beachbody’s newest workouts and supplements, and of course, get our sweat on with all the celebrity trainers like Tony Horton, Shaun T, and Sagi! I am proud to be a part of Beachbody. I am passionate about their programs and supplements because they have changed my life! I was especially excited this year because I talked my wife in to bringing the whole family along. We stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel and I was able to learn all about the exciting new things that Beachbody has in the pipeline during the day, and then celebrate in Vegas with my family in the evenings.  I want to give a special thanks to my wife who watched our three little ones every single day!  It was an awesome time, especially given that I was able to marry two of the most important things in my life: my family and my passion for health and fitness.  It was awesome! As you can see from the video above, I got a few new video toys so thought this would be fun to share a quick video update. I know you are all busy so this is only 1 minute long and includes 3 quick updates: 1) Shaun T’s new workout called Focus T25, 2) new Vanilla Shakeology Flavor, and 3) an update on Coach Fred’s P90x certification. I’ll be sharing more on these and other updates from the Coach Summit in future posts! Here’s to your health! Keep “bringing it”! -Coach...

Coach Summit 2012

Coach Summit 2012

Jul 25, 2012

Hi Team Dragon Fit! In June, I had the pleasure to attend my first Beachbody Coach Summit in Las Vegas.  What an amazing experience!  Beachbody holds this event annually and they usually hold it at their corporate headquarters in California. This year they wanted to kick it up a notch and hold it in Las Vegas. Along with learning firsthand many of Beachbody’s product news and updates, I got the chance to meet many other Beachbody coaches and celebrity trainers.  I even got the opportunity to do group workouts with Tony Horton, Shaun T, Chalene Johnson, the Les Mills Pump team, and Sagi Kalev.  More importantly, I also got to personally thank two very important people that have changed my life. First, I got to shake hands with Tony Horton, the creator of P90x.  As many on my team know, I have been doing P90x for over a year and a half now.  I told him that I lost 100 lbs. thanks to his program.  In typical Tony fashion, he smiled, pointed his finger at me and with a serious tone said, “If you gain it back I will come to your house and personally DESTROY YOU!!!”  Yeah, Tony is known as a “fitness clown” and I gotta tell you that he is even funnier in real life!  Tony held three group workout sessions during the event and I attended them all in person.  It was hard to catch my breath and do many of the moves as he had me and the rest of the crowd laughing at his jokes.  I am used to working out by myself in the comfort of my home, but what an amazing experience to be working out with 5,000 other people at the same time in one convention ballroom and later on the Las Vegas strip outside! My biggest highlight was finally getting the opportunity to meet and thank my Beachbody Coach, Wayne Wyatt.  I found my coach after watching one of his YouTube transformation videos online.  I lost 22 lbs. in my first round of P90x by “going it alone”.  After I asked Wayne to be my coach and followed his advice, I lost...

Why I’m A Coach

Why I’m A Coach

Feb 29, 2012

You may be wondering why Fred became a Coach.   To be honest, if you would have asked me a year ago if I ever had any goals to be a coach, I would probably have laughed at you!  What a difference a year can make.   Now many people refer to me as “Coach Fred”. On your fitness journey, you are going to hear the word “transformation” a lot.  I lost almost one hundred pounds on my fitness journey.  I had a tremendous “physical” transformation.  I have tons more energy and can now do things I used to think were impossible.  The funny thing is that a transformation I underwent was more than physical.  I have also transformed mentally and emotionally.  I am different not only on the outside but also on the inside. I like to say it “clicked” for me.  Once it did, I started making a ton of progress.  I started educating myself about calorie counting and proper techniques for working out and what supplements to take to fuel my body.  I no longer looked to food for comfort but as fuel.  I began finding that I had the resolve and confidence to say “no” politely to offers of candy, fried foods, and alcohol. People began noticing changes in me.  At first, they were curious about what I was doing.  Once they saw I was committed to living a fit lifestyle and getting great results, they began asking me lots of questions.   I found myself talking more and more about fitness with people.   I am currently the Manager for my parents’ restaurants in Reno, Nevada.  We have a very successful breakfast restaurant, which is famous for big portions.  Customers began asking me for suggestions on what to eat healthy in my restaurant, so I created a monthly newsletter with healthy dishes.  I began getting passionate about wanting to help other people.  That is when I decided to follow the great example set by the person who coached me and become a Beachbody coach myself. I like to say that “I am an ordinary guy, who had extraordinary results, using an amazing program”.  It has worked for me and I am no one special.  I am just like a lot of...
